Prometheus Design Werx x Chris Reeve Knives SPD Edition Sebenza 31

promethius design werx

Sporting a design that was inspired by 1980s fixed blade models, the OS3 is a compact pack and field knife that measures 8” overall. Boasting a thickness of 0.145”, the OS3’s blade is comprised of a flat-ground spear point item with an unsharpened upper swedge and a top-shelf CPM S35VN construction with a matte ceramic bead-peened finish. The OS3 also tips the scales at a svelte 3.7oz, making it ideal for everything from backpacking to survival use. Short for “California Special,” this truncated auto knife is a product of PDW’s Special Projects Division.

Special Projects Division

We learn from the past, look to the future, and build for today. With decades of experience in creating highly versatile, capable designs used worldwide in adventurous to dangerous places, Prometheus Design Werx is wilderness grade goods for the outsider. In June of 2019, 31 years after the debut of the original Sebenza, Chris Reeve Knives released the Sebenza 31 — an ultra-top-shelf folding knife that’s now widely viewed as the holy grail of premium everyday carry blades. Created by PDW’s Special Projects Division (or SPD), the Audax packs an American clip point blade that’s composed of ultra-top-shelf Böhler M390 — unequivocally one of the finest blade steels that money can buy. The blade is deployed using a knurled and ramped, double-action titanium thumb slider that’s been fitted with a dive watch-grade GITD inlay. The SPD Audax OTF Knife also boasts PDW’s signature handle and blade fullers. Taking its name from the Latin word for “bold,” the Audax is constructed around a grooved 6061-T6 aluminum handle that’s been fortified via a type III hard-anodized coating.

Accessories

From a collection of watch straps, all featuring titanium hardware, to the original Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit, which has set the high standard from beginning, and from where all others follow. We strive to create the finest quality products possible and require demanding, best quality standards, and processes. In the instances where we are unable to find an ideal match locally, we then circle outwards to other parts of our state, the West Coast, eastwards, and then globally. We keep our manufacturing within the USA whenever possible, and many of our core products are made here in our home state of California. Our primary top tier objectives are to design and produce the finest outdoor and adventure goods we can.

Adventure Is Out There

Our manufacturing partners must meet our rigorous and demanding requirements such as ISO 9001 for quality and consistency.Prometheus Design Werx always first begins with our local business community to select a manufacturing partner. There is a rich history and current availability of a wide variety of production, fabrication, and innovation centered in the Bay Area. From the former US Navy shipyards in our neighborhood, which saw their heyday during WWII, to the old school, modern machine, and fabrication shops that all sprung up in the area since the 1940s. There is also a new generation of growth in anything tech related, as we find ourselves in great company of the highest order. These instruments have a long storied history with adventurers and those intrepid men and women who have stepped into dangerous places. We have designed and created numerous next level accessories to customize your favorite tool watch.

Since its inception in 2014, Prometheus Design Werx has consistently placed a premium on quality over quantity, delivering highly-calculated garments and gear that have been engineered to last a lifetime. And while the San Francisco-based outfit has previously produced a wide range of fixed blade and folding knives, PDW has now unveiled its first-ever out-the-front knife with the all-new SPD Audax. Featuring design inspiration from the Loveless Chute Knife, the SPD STS-B addresses the needs first brought forth by Harry Archer. Archer is the man who initially commissioned the chute knife concept to Loveless. He was looking for an all-around edged tool that could cut parachute lines, aid in wilderness survival, be used for personal safety/defense, etc. This homage to the legendary pattern puts Archer’s vision into a modern, highly detailed purpose driven framelock folder.

Pocket Tools

Made by hand in Idaho, the SPD Edition of the Sebenza 31 is being offered in two sizes. Tipping the scales at 4.7oz, the Large-spec packs a 3.61” blade and measures 8.40” when open, while the Small variant weighs in at 3oz, boasts a 2.99” blade, and spans 6.98” overall with its blade deployed. Like the regular Sebenza models, the SPD Edition retains the standard folder’s Reeve Integral Lock and ceramic ball (detent) interface, titanium pocket clip, and blue-anodized lanyard pin and single-sided thumb-stud. The top-shelf titanium handle is mated to a flat and hollow-ground drop point blade with a stone-wash finish that’s crafted from CPM S45VN — an ultra-premium blade steel born out of a collaboration between Crucible Industries and Chris Reeve.

Both the G-10 and carbon fiber scales feature five fullers running along both sides for additional retention. We at Prometheus Design Werx believe in discipline, but make up most of our own rules. That you should know how to start a proper campfire without a match and also safely extinguish it. Being able to hit a target at 300 yds using iron sights, and knowing that a wild strawberry tastes better than anything bought in a store.

I then wanted to check the edge and see how it held up, so I cut up some corrugated cardboard. The edge was still sharp enough to slice up most of a large box without any issue. There were some points that it kind of tore, but I think it was more due to the box being hard to hold onto. Next, I whittled a quick try stick, performing different various reductions and notches. The clip point tip was perfect for prying out chunks of wood for finer detail work.

The wisest of all Titans, the son of Iapetus and Themis, and brother to Atlas, Epimetheus, and Menoetius. His name means “Forethought.” He was a protector and benefactor of humankind, and known for his artful and clever intelligence. Overall, the SPD STS-B was very comfortable and easy to control during this process. It is not recommended to baton a folding knife to split wood because it is hard on the pivot. So, making a wedge will preserve your knife in an emergency survival scenario.

Additionally, the grip itself swells slightly on each side for comfortable, hand-filling ergonomics. Likewise, the bolster contains a finger notch and a slight upper and lower guard to aid in comfort and retention during use. The triangle found in the center of our logo, is the strongest of all shapes, it is the core, hearth, and the alchemical symbol for fire. The three intertwined modified hexagons represent the interconnectivity of both the planned and often unexpected directions in life and enterprise.

The outside frame is a six sided polygon and a hybrid shape representing the strength of your "House," and also the shared efficiency of a six sided polygon as found in nature and replicated by man. Prometheus Design Werx's inherent passion for creating our exceptional products to be used in their intended contexts and environments means that we intrinsically stay authentic and true to our narrative, consumer, and community. Every product we design and craft are ones we use ourselves everyday in the field or on the street.

Being based in San Francisco, Prometheus Design Werx is well aware of this reality. Wanting to deliver an automatic EDC knife that’s legal to carry in its home state, PDW has now unveiled the CAS OTF. Beautifully matching the aesthetics of the Prometheus Design Werx SPD STS-B is its performance. I used the knife to perform a few of the different functions that I felt held true to its purpose. Regarding self-defense use, I have no doubt it will perform admirably in that function.

Take the glitter glue, and spread it on the surface with a painting brush. Expect the first layer to be thin and not as sparkly as you expect it. That’s not an issue, as you’ll get just the right amount of glitter when applying the next coats.

Can I Make Custom Shoes If I’m Not a Designer?

Whether you work a nine-to-five or hustle as a freelance consultant, a business appropriate dress or suit will always come in handy. For Spring 2024, power blazers, white shirts, and trousers take on a more relaxed silhouette while incorporating key pieces like loafers, brogues, wingtip shoes, and sleek tote. Starting off strong with the “It” shoe of last year, Adidas’ Sambas OG sneakers continue to gain major mileage from Hollywood’s mood board regulars.

Prada's cool slingback heels have already stood out as a fashion insider favorite this season and are only destined to get more popular. The low pointed-toe heels are designed in a rainbow of colors, each with a sporty waved sole, broken kitten heel, subtle logo, and rubber finish that make them feel timeless and modern all at once. Hoka makes some of the best running shoes with extra cushioning and support, as anyone who's trained for a 5k knows. The Clifton, one of its best-rated sneakers, is also your most comfortable in to the chunky sneaker trend for times when you're not training. You can choose from a wide range of bright color combinations and more subdued neutrals; personally, I spend all summer in a pair of white Hokas with a revolving rack of flowy dresses.

There shouldn’t be any oil or dirt on the surface, as it may prevent your glitter and mod podge from sticking to it. Don’t skip the process even if you think your shoes are absolutely clean – the last thing you want here is to spend glitter in vain. We have GitHub, for instance, which is a communal platform for code sharing, and manifests in the best way how creativity can spread inexorably in areas we never considered. Basically, what custom design does is helping us spread our voice in the modern world, and customized sneakers are a great way to start doing that. In order to skip paying for a professional, custom pair of shoes by a popular brand, you should look at such that launch one-of-a-kind pieces.

"With a wide range of women’s exclusive colorways released over the last year and more on the way, this sneaker will remain a top pick in 2023." Here’s another sneaker that’s been known and loved for decades, for good reason. First, they’ve been a court-to-street mainstay since they were introduced by Reebok in the 80s.

Our new arrivals feature blank shoes waiting for your creative touch. These limited edition shoes pay homage to the hat designed by Philip Treacy for Grace Jones. A wearable piece of art, the Muse celebrates women who are not afraid to speak up and stand out. This pair brings just the right pop of color and art to any ensemble–spring, summer and beyond.

Possibly, but when the final product arrives, the wait weaves itself into the backstory of your one-of-a-kind piece. To protect them even more, you can spray some acrylic sealer in the very end. This can also be any waterproof shoe spray, as long as it is clear and glossy. A matte version may cause the sparkle to decrease, so make sure you’ve purchased the right sealer.

Only 99 pairs of the Muse will be released by Sebastian Milano. The designs shoes that also cater to extended sizing (up to IT44), which is rare in the luxury accessory space. For a pair of comfortable sneakers that won’t break the bank, we like these Avia knit sneakers from Walmart (yes, Walmart). The soft knit material is super breathable so you won’t sweat through your shoes, while a memory foam insole and EVA midsole cradle every step with comfort. We like the added lift of the “Energy Foam” sole too, which adds a little height to your outfit. Whether you prefer comfy flats, boots, heels or retro sneakers, read on for some of this season’s most comfortable footwear for women, as spotted on the steppers of Hollywood’s top style stars.

At the end, cover the glitter with a thin coat of glossy mod podge. In such way, you will seal your design and make sure glitter is not shed all around the shoes. Once the mod is dry, take the newspaper out and remove the tape. In few hours (depending on the humidity), your shoes will be ready to wear. Get some rubbing alcohol and soak a cotton ball inside. Use it to wipe the area that is about to be glittered, and repeat the process as many times as necessary until the ball is completely clean.

Molly Brown House U S. National Park Service

The Molly Brown House Museum is the premier place to explore Denver's history. Explore on your own, or interact with knowledgeable docents who share the Progressive Era changes Margaret and mining engineer husband J.J. From the front porch of the home, see the State Capitol's gold dome and the spires of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to connect the economic activities of mining to Denver's built environment and civic gathering places. Once inside, make connections between how families lived 100 years ago compared to today. Discover the rich history of immigration to Denver by hearing about the Tobin and Brown families as well as their servants. The house was designed by architect William A. Lang,[2] and built in 1889, incorporating several popular styles of the period, including Queen Anne style architecture in the United States and Richardsonian Romanesque for the original owners Isaac and Mary Large.

History

Her efforts also lead to the preservation of Denver poet Eugene Field’s home. Her interest in politics put her on the forefront of the women’s movement. Her true fame, however, was linked with the greatest shipping disaster known up to that point in history---the sinking of the RMS Titanic.

Explore the National Park Service

Construction on the house is thought to have started in 1887 by George W. Clayton or Isaac N. Large, but was not completed due to financial problems. The Browns purchased the house in 1890 and completed construction around 1892. It was Molly herself who selected the lavish, even ostentatious, furnishings and decorations. She was hoping to work her way into Denver society, but her attempts backfired, and the so-called “Sacred Thirty-Six” of Denver completely bypassed her. Snubbed, Molly began a series of journeys to the cultural capitals of the world, primarily Paris, London and New York, to study art, music, design, fashion, languages and other areas of interest.

The home then became a rooming house for men, a Jane Addams Hull House settlement, and rooms and apartments for rent.

Margaret and the family traveled frequently, and so the house was often rented out. In 1902, it was the governor's mansion for the Governor of Colorado and his family (Margaret invited the governor and his family to use her home while the governor's mansion was undergoing remodeling). In 1926, Margaret turned the home into a boarding house under the supervision of her housekeeper.[3] The house was sold after Margaret's death in 1932, for $6,000.

History

She survived the sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912 and was known afterwards as the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown. Her house, called “the House of Lions” but historically known as the Molly Brown House, welcomed visiting royalty and international figures. A musical and movie were made about her life, and she was portrayed by actress Kathy Bates in James Cameron’s 1997 film Titanic. Her rags to riches story, and her unsuccessful attempts to break into Denver society, as well as her taking charge of one of the lifeboats of the Titanic, have made her a memorable figure as one of Colorado’s most colorful women.

After the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1893, the Large family sold the house. It was purchased by James Joseph Brown (J.J.), Margaret's husband, in 1894 for US$30,000 and the title was transferred to Margaret in 1898, possibly due to J.J.'s deteriorating health. The Molly Brown House Museum (also known as House of Lions) is a house in Denver, Colorado, United States that was the home of American philanthropist, activist, and socialite Margaret Brown. She survived the sinking of the RMS Titanic and was known as the “Heroine of the Titanic” for her service to survivors. The museum is her former home and presents exhibits interpreting her life, Victorian Denver and historic preservation. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Some of these early trips she made with her husband, but gradually he stayed home more to mind his financial empire, and she went off by herself. They had two children, Franklin and Kathy Brown.Due to these trips, Molly became well-known in international society. Molly Brown was cited for her hospital work as well as for entertaining the troops during World War I, and she erected the Mark Twain Memorial in her hometown of Hannibal, Missouri.

Looking through the catalog I realized there are several new items that I’m really excited about. I ended up putting little Post-It notes everywhere and ultimately, decided to share with you some of my favorites.

What is the best day to go to the outlet?

Keep in mind that outlet prices are based on the full retail price and may not reflect any current online sales. Before making a purchase, check the Ballard Designs website to see if the item you’re interested in is available at a better price due to a current sale. If so, it might be wise to opt for the online purchase, as it also comes with a warranty. So many varying shapes, sizes, and colors- there truly is something for everyone. The outlet carries quite an assortment of Ballard Designs drapes.

Does the outlet have a Client List?

Below are some examples of inventory that has been spotted. I have delivery days listed in individual location updates linked at the top of the post. However, for the most up-to-date information, call ahead to your local outlet to confirm. When shopping for furniture at the Ballard Outlet, it’s crucial to thoroughly inspect each item as all sales are final.

Ballard Designs Bedding

For those higher-than-normal discounts, you’ll want to swoop them up as soon as possible. They do sometimes change discounts during the day if enough inventory for that category has been sold. Products available at Ballard Designs include furniture, lighting, bedding, rugs, wall décor, and much more. With a commitment to exceptional quality and value, customers can trust that they are getting products that are not only stylish but also built to last.

Ballard Designs fabric is often in stock in the online clearance section as well. Negotiating at the outlet is not common practice, but there may be times they will work with you. They work hard to ensure that items or categories that need deeper discounting are, so you’ll likely be thrilled with the price. Head straight to the outlet or browse their current clearance options online.

While the outlet has tons of discounted rugs, you can land some equally good deals by browsing clearance rugs here. Ballard Designs furniture is constantly changing at the outlet. Seeing a product online does not necessarily mean that it will be available at the outlet store.

However, you can inquire with the store about any local delivery referrals they may have. Alternatively, you can consider my third-party delivery recommendations which may offer more affordable rates. To ensure a smooth shopping experience at the outlet, make sure you have the product’s SKU readily available if you have a specific item in mind. This will help the staff assist you in finding the item quickly and efficiently. You will instantly receive an email from FeedBurner and you will need to click the link to activate your subscription.

Luckily for me, they now offer these new Kubu Baskets that feature the warm grays of French vintage finds. I also have a bit of a mirror obsession so it should be no surprise that a few of the new mirrors caught my eye. In fact, I think that the Beaudry would look great in my living room and the Louis mirror has a timeless elegance about it. But if you’ve ever tried to look through wallpaper books, you know the task can be overwhelming. Trying to find the perfect paper in among all of the books is like looking for a needle in a haystack! Since I already know that Ballard has a look I like, it’s as if they’ve done the groundwork for me and I just have the fun part of choosing!

The Ultimate Guide to Royal Caribbean's Unlimited Dining Package

how much is a royal caribbean cruise

Royal Caribbean has one of the most extensive children's programs at sea, with programs and activities for children as young as 6 months old through the age of 17. It also can be booked for special events, such as weddings, for a charge. For something quieter and more pampering, Royal Caribbean ships also all have spas. Some are enormous, with more than two dozen treatment rooms and thermal areas with hot stone chairs, rainforest shower areas, saunas and steam rooms. Many of Royal Caribbean's biggest ships have state-of-the-art theaters as big as you'll find on Broadway, with top-name Broadway shows.

Credit cards

I mean, if you’re planning on sipping energy drinks by day and transitioning to cocktails by night, the numbers add up quickly. The other key thing to note is that the bar service gratuity is included as well. The annoying thing about this is that Royal uses a sales and marketing technique called dynamic pricing. One way to save money on cocktails is to avoid getting a cocktail in a souvenir glass. Usually the “daily specials” are served by default by the bar waiters who walk along the pool deck.

Bottom line: Is a drink package on Royal Caribbean right for you?

It's the first show-at-sea I've seen with a waterfall and nine-foot-tall robotic arms, and so far, it's one of my favorites. While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat. If you're a frequent cruiser — especially with Royal Caribbean — amenities like the mini-golf course and water playground may not seem exciting. Matt started Royal Caribbean Blog in 2010 as a place to share his passion for all things Royal Caribbean with readers. He oversees all the writers at Royal Caribbean Blog, and writes a great deal of content on a daily basis. He has become one of the foremost expert on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

How many bottles of water can I bring onboard?

For sailings of four nights or fewer, the final payment is due 75 days or more prior to the embarkation date. For five-night voyages and longer, the cruise line must receive all money no fewer than 120 days from sailing. The deadline for world cruises is at least 180 days prior to departure.

For all other cruises — including holiday voyages, voyages longer than 30 days and segments of voyages longer than 30 days — full payment must be received at least 90 days before embarkation. For suites and concierge-level accommodations, final payment is due 91 days or more prior to sailing. Other options include payment by electronic check, PayPal or Apple Pay (depending on how you book) or points and miles on a third-party platform.

Other factors, such as inflation, better marketing, and interest generated by new cruise ships drive up prices. The prices above should be used as a guide, but actual cruise fares may be higher or lower depending on day to day pricing. Not just limited to the theater, the cruise also offers an array of other activities and shows at no extra cost. Live music, spanning various genres, is a frequent treat, available throughout the day at several locations onboard. Royal Caribbean does not provide traditional babysitting services on its ships.

Select non-alcoholic beverages

I mentioned the clever naming of cocktails earlier in the Music Hall like the “Raspberry Beret”, the “Jack and Diane” and the “Hotel California”. Around the pool bar, you will find your regular Bahama Mama’s and Mai Tai’s. For example, expect to find a decent range of Whiskies in the Schooner Bar.

As I mentioned above, there is one way to get a glimpse of the outside world from an inside cabin on a Royal Caribbean ship. In one of the great cruising innovations, Royal Caribbean has created some inside cabins with a "virtual balcony" that offers a view of the outside. The takeaway here is that you'll have a tougher time locking down a balcony cabin on an older Royal Caribbean ship than on a newer vessel.

It's forbidden in cabins and on cabin balconies, and those who violate this rule will face a $250 cleaning fee. In the casino, only cigarette smoking is allowed, and only in designated areas on most ships (smoking in casinos is forbidden on sailings out of Australia and U.K. ports). Royal Caribbean has one of the fastest Wi-Fi systems at sea — so fast that you're able to watch Netflix from your room on your mobile device.

Royal Caribbean ships offer an inordinate amount of teen- and tween-friendly attractions — everything from some of the largest waterslides at sea to bumper car pavilions. That makes them particularly appealing to families, including multigenerational groups. Royal Caribbean's designers are masters at designing vessels that can carry thousands and thousands of people but still feel relatively uncrowded — at least in some areas. In recent years, Royal Caribbean has deployed one or more ships to China for sailings aimed at the Chinese market.

Plus, you can always pay the balance off early or in larger amounts than are required by your cruise line. The drawback, however, is that you part with a lot of money upfront if you decide to pay immediately. For many cruisers who book a year or more ahead of time, that money could be more lucrative sitting in a bank account that earns interest instead of providing an interest-free loan to a cruise line. If you want to feel like you're drinking in a nest atop a tree, bring your coffee-infused cocktail from nearby Rye and Bean to one of the elevated pods. I spent my time there perched at one of its in-water loungers, contently splashing my legs around the water, wondering if I actually hated cruises. Guests who are Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club Crown and Anchor Society members also receive complimentary drinks on each day.

However, specialty coffees available at places like Cafe Promenade, which utilize Starbucks coffee beans, are included. This might encompass specific fitness classes, bingo sessions, casino activities, drink seminars, spa services, and more. Always refer to the daily schedule or app for details regarding any additional charges. There are SO many entertainment options on a Royal Caribbean cruise, the majority of which are included in the cruise fare. At the heart of these are the breathtaking performances in the Royal Theater, featuring renowned Broadway musicals like Grease, Hairspray, and Mamma Mia!. Royal Caribbean has implemented a structured system for gratuities, ensuring that guests don’t need to distribute cash tips individually to staff.

With four elevators removed and 50 new cabins added during the 2016 refurbishment, Cunard QM2 -- as the ship is sometimes known -- could have become overcrowded around the other elevators, but this doesn't seem to be a problem. Our transatlantic crossing sailed at capacity, yet the ship felt as spacious as ever. Caribbean weather is renowned for being warm and inviting, with temperatures averaging between degrees Celsius (75-84 degrees Fahrenheit) all year round. The wet season typically occurs between May and October, while other months of the year tend to be dry. Hurricane season is July to October, although storms are not a given even at this time of year. Most Caribbean cruises sail in November and December to take advantage of the lower humidity, pleasant temperatures and drier days.

When on a Canary Islands cruise it is important to check your itinerary to see which islands you will visit. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is the world’s second most popular carnival, and is held every February with a different theme each year. The islands are also known for their beautiful national parks—four out of Spain’s twelve can be found on La Palma, La Gomera, Lanzarote and Tenerife. As you cross the Atlantic Ocean in the ultimate style, embrace the freedom of the sea, with time to do as much — or as little — as you please.

Some of our most popular cruises take place along the east coast of North America, where gleaming skyscrapers meet natural harbors, and some of the most famous sights are within reach. Cunard usually sends at least one of its three ships to Asia, Australia and New Zealand every winter for sailings out of such major hubs as Tokyo (where ships sail from nearby Yokohama) and Sydney. All three of Cunard's vessels spend at least part of the year sailing in Europe, with the biggest portion of sailings in the Mediterranean.

An established leader in ocean travel around Europe, Cunard is entering a new era with the debut of its latest Queen. The gorgeous beaches, year-round warm weather, and rich culture of the Caribbean islands have long beckoned travelers seeking a little (or big) slice of paradise. From the hidden gems of Dominica and the rolling waves of Barbados to the charming architecture of St. Kitts, Cunard guests will discover the full appeal of this region. Travelers can either embark on a Caribbean-specific itinerary or combine a Caribbean voyage with a Transatlantic Crossing between New York and London for a longer trip.

Terminal C

Known as the Pearl of Miami, this futuristic 166,500 sq.ft.terminal was designed by Miami-based architects Bermello Ajamil & Partners. Our fact-packed Miami Cruise Terminal Guide offers a comprehensive look at each terminal in PortMiami. It provides cruisers with all the information they might need to know. Terminal A – The Crown of Miami

However, it remains to be seen whether any planned construction and investment will be affected by the halting of cruises due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Known as the “Cruise Capital of the World”, Miami cruise port is the largest and busiest in the world and is part of PortMiami’s 518-acre site. It makes sense to know which cruise terminal your cruise will depart from, and what amenities are available. For the best taxi experience consider an established rideshare app like Uber or Lyft.

Best Time to Visit and Cruise from Miami?

If you're taking a cab to the Miami cruise port on the day of your sailing, your driver will need to follow signs for your ship's terminal after entering the port. Specific drop-off locations are designated at each terminal, and each terminal has its own designated taxi area. Often these hotels offer free shuttles, or shuttles that are included with a hotel package. There are also a number of Miami hotels near the Coral Way trolley, a transit route offering free transportation to the port. Below, we’ve covered the main options to get to the cruise port, along with estimated prices from the major airports.

Easy Ways to Get From the Airport to the Miami Cruise Port

Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. If you're young and traveling with friends, the Moxy South Beach (starting at 30,000 points per night) was designed just for you. While it might not have all the amenities more upscale hotels have, it's got great views and rooms with quad bunk beds. And, if you just want a cheap place to rest your head, there are two Hyatt Place options starting at 6,500 points per night near Miami airport. Accepted modes of payment include cash and major credit cards (but not debit cards). However, Garage J is prepaid only (pay when you arrive), and vehicles need to display a special decal throughout the duration of the cruise.

Azamara introduces maiden ports in 2025-2026 winter cruises

MSC previously used Terminal F. Designed by Aquatonica, the planned new mega-ship terminal will have two terminals and two berths. It will be able to simultaneously accommodate two of MSC’s new World-Class cruise vessels (which rival RCI’s Oasis-class vessels in size). Hotels with breathtaking views and luxury options abound in Downtown, which is home to popular tourist attractions including Bayside Marketplace, Bayfront Park, Museum Park and Lummus Park. While still very much urban, Brickell offers a more suburban feel. Plenty of hotels are found in the neighborhood, which also offers fantastic dining and shopping at Mary Brickell Village. All parking areas at cruise terminal and Lot 2 are open on cruise days only.

How Many Miami Cruise Terminals are There?

Car and van services also offer private pick-up and drop-off. The fare from MIA to PortMiami is about $100 for a standard vehicle that accommodates three people. Prices will go up for private rides and depending on the number of passengers in your party and the type of vehicle requested (i.e., sedan, SUV, van, etc.). Outbound flight times don't always dovetail perfectly with your cruise line's disembarkation time, so you might find yourself with time to kill at the airport. Sailing out of Miami is a rite of passage, and the sailaway is truly one of the most beautiful in the world.

For an idea of the transfer cost, the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Brickell Downtown offers a shuttle to PortMiami for $8 per person. A good alternative to driving your own car to the Port of Miami is to rent a car. When staying overnight at a hotel nearby, you will not need to walk because most hotels in Downtown Miami provide shuttle buses to the cruise port. As of early 2021, The Port of Miami has seven operational cruise terminals with four more undergoing renovation or construction.

For more details and rates on using rideshare services to get to the Miami port, read our article here. It includes rates from a number of spots around the area, and more details on using the service. There are multiple parking options available near Terminal C, including short-term and long-term parking. Rates may vary, so it’s best to check the Port of Miami website for the most up-to-date information.

The cost of using these services varies based on the type of vehicle you choose but the average for an UberX is around $25 for Miami and around $40 for Fort Lauderdale. Knowing this information, you should plan your flights appropriately if you plan to fly in the day of your cruise. We always recommend cruisers fly the day before to avoid any potential travel delays. Terminal V is the new terminal currently under construction for Virgin Voyage. The terminal was originally estimated to be complete in 2021, though it has been confirmed that it won’t be ready for Scarlet Lady’s debut.

It will be on the south side of the port, east of Terminal J, and will be homeport to Disney Cruise Line’s larger vessels carrying over 3,500 passengers. Terminal B is in the final stages of completion at a cost of $239 million with expected completion in 2021. It will have a dedicated waiting lounge, bar lounge, service area and dedicated parking garage with optional valet service. The comfort and assurance of the official option does come at a cost however, with many shuttle services costing around $25 to $35 per person. Charges like this may be fine if you are travelling alone, but they soon add up to a large bill if you are travelling with family.

If you'd prefer to be on the beach, Hyatt has some solid options that won't break the bank, including Dream South Beach and Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami (both from 17,000 points per night). If you're driving an over-length vehicle (RV or vehicle with trailer), head to Surface Lot E, which has extra-large spots. On embarkation day, the parking facilities are open and staffed by a parking attendant from 6 a.m. Ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft are also an option.

Prices of Uber/Lyft start around $20 from Miami airport to cruise port and even less for a shared pool ride. There’s no arguing that Miami is the cruise capital of the world. With millions of passengers sailing from there each year, hotels cater to them by offering perks like shuttles to the cruise port.

The museum offers a lot of science-focused exhibits, along with aquariums and a planetarium. Head up to the roof to get a dramatic sweeping view of the entire port area in the thoughtfully-designed open-air wildlife exhibit. Miami is one of Florida's most popular vacation destinations and the embarkation point for major cruise lines.
